Privacy Policy

Effective: May 5, 2026 · Last updated: September 7, 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Backyard Bougie, Inc., a California corporation, doing business as Vachel Heritage Egg Co. ("Vachel," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you visit vachelfarms.com, sign up for our waitlist, communicate with us, or otherwise interact with our Services (defined in our Terms & Conditions).

This Policy applies to personal information of California residents and other U.S. residents. We do not knowingly direct our Services to residents of jurisdictions outside the United States.

2. Information We Collect

a. Information you provide

Category Examples Source

Preferences The plan you say you are interested in, whether you would prefer pickup or delivery, and anything you type into the notes field The waitlist form on our home page
Commercial information None today. We are not taking orders. If and when orders open, order history and product preferences Future orders and customer-service interactions
Communications Content of emails or messages you send us, social media interactions Direct correspondence, social platforms

What the waitlist form sends, and where it goes

There are two forms on this site — the waitlist form on the home page and the shorter one on the coming-soon page — and they are the only way the site collects information you type. When you submit either one, your browser sends the fields listed above, plus the time of submission, the address of the page you were on, and a short label naming which form you used, over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection directly to our customer-relationship-management provider, GoHighLevel (HighLevel Inc., operating the LeadConnector service). That is where your waitlist record lives and where the launch email is sent from. Our web-hosting provider does not receive or store form submissions.

Anti-spam measures. The forms use two simple checks to keep automated submissions out: a decoy field that people never see but bots tend to fill in, and a timer that rejects submissions made less than a few seconds after the page loads. Neither check collects any additional information about you, and we do not use a third-party bot-detection or CAPTCHA service.

b. Information collected automatically

Category Examples Source
Internet/network activity IP address, browser type, pages requested, referring URL, timestamps Standard server logs kept by our web-hosting provider (Hostinger)
Approximate location City- or region-level location derived from IP address Server logs

c. Cookies & similar technologies

This site sets no cookies of its own and loads no analytics or advertising tags. There is no Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, or anything like them in the page code — we checked, and we will update this Policy before that ever changes. If we add analytics in the future, it will load only with your consent.

The site does use your browser's local storage for two small things: remembering for seven days that you dismissed the announcement banner, and remembering for seven days that you have already seen the lab-testing notice. That information stays on your device and is never sent to us.

Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser makes a request to Google's font servers when a page loads; refer to Google's privacy policy for details on that interaction.

d. Information from third parties

We may receive limited operational information from the service providers who help us run the Services (for example, delivery reports from GoHighLevel about the emails we send you). We do not purchase personal information from data brokers.

3. How We Use Your Information

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell personal information for money. We share personal information in the following limited circumstances:

To the extent that any data sharing constitutes a "sale" or "share" of personal information under California law, we will treat such activity as subject to the rights described in Section 7 below.

5. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, to comply with our legal obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we will delete or de-identify it in accordance with our retention practices.

6. Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights — California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights with respect to your personal information, subject to certain exceptions:

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@vachelfarms.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." Email is our designated method for privacy requests: we are a small farm that operates online and by email, and we do not maintain a public mailing address or phone line for this purpose. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, subject to verification.

Notice at collection

This is the notice California law asks us to give you at or before the point where we collect personal information — which, on this site, is the waitlist form.

8. Email & SMS Marketing Opt-Out

You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link in any email we send. If we send SMS marketing in the future, you may opt out by replying STOP to any message. Opt-out requests are processed promptly. Note that we may continue to send transactional or service-related communications even after you opt out of marketing.

9. Children's Privacy

The Services are not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

10. Third-Party Links & Services

The Services may contain links to third-party websites or services, including our Facebook page and email service providers. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.

11. International Users

The Services are operated from the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States, which may have data-protection laws different from those in your country.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, by additional notice. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.
